Stitching
All stitching is done by hand using waxed linen thread.
We use traditional saddle stitching methods as this gives a strong durable finish. Holes are marked on first to make sure they are level and evenly spaced. The holes are then made using a diamond-shaped awl.
Items are generally stitched using the same colour thread as the leather but for some items we use a contrasting colour for effect; for example brown thread stands out on natural leather bags, as does black thread on red leather purses.
