Our dog collars and harnesses have been carefully designed with the dog's comfort in mind. Each collar is carefully hand-stitched using traditional saddle stitching techniques. These create a really strong collar – in the extremely rare event of a stitch breaking, machine stitching tends to unravel, but with hand-stitching the rest of the stitches will remain secure and you will continue to get many years wear out of the collar.
Where the leather is attached to the buckle, the leather is shaped, tapered and then stitched carefully to ensure no rough edges or parts where hair or skin could become trapped. We use double-bar buckles as well as a leather keeper – this gives two points for the end of the collar to tuck under, keeping it neat and close to the dog's neck.
We use only the very best veg-tanned leather. This is treated with natural oils and beeswax to provide some level of waterproofing; as with all leather products this treatment will need repeating periodically to prolong the life of the leather and to stop it going stiff and hard after submersion in water!
Our dog leads use tried and tested swivel clip fasteners, as we have found these keep the dog safely and securely tethered, while at the same time being quick to attach and release.
